iCAN Project participated in the interactive webinar on Ethical Excellence – Towards a certification for active and healthy ageing ageing digital solutions, organized by AAL Programme

iCan Project participated on June 29th in the webinar ETHICAL EXCELLENCE – Toward a certification for active and healthy ageing digital solutions, organized by AAL Programme in collaboration with R2M Solution.

Ethics and privacy in the age of digital transformation are key questions and concerns for solutions focused on ageing well through ICT services. Furthermore, they play a significant role in the level of protection of end users’ data within a wide variety of contexts.

During the interactive workshop we had the opportunity to learn about:

  • The importance of addressing properly ethics and privacy to obtain high standard and quality in R&D related to human technology interactions.
  • AAL Guidelines for Ethics, Data Privacy and Security, released in 2020.
  • Lessons learnt from discussions with European AHA solutions developers, health and social care providers, user organisations, certification bodies and assessors.
  • Opportunities to develop a formal ‘ethical excellence’ recognition system for Active & Healthy Ageing (AHA) digital solutions.
